2) Last Minute Extra Credit (Must be handed in by the end of class TODAY): Worth 20 POINTS: Compose your own parody of one of the plays we've read in class this year.  You can choose to parody the entire play or focus on one scene.  Your parody should be written in play format and should be a minimum of two pages (one page front and back.)  Remember, a parody is meant to be FUNNY :-)

Today: Playwriting Group Project: Today is your LAST day to prepare.  You should spend the majority of class time rehearsing your play and deciding on the staging of your play.  You will be presenting your plays in class TOMORROW!

Exit Slip: Do you feel your group is prepared to present your play to the class tomorrow?  Why or why not?  What might you have to do tonight in order to prepare for tomorrow's presentation?

Objective: Students will be able to compare a parody to a play in order to determine whether or not the parody is effective in making fun of the play.  Students will be able to compose their own original plays in order to perform those plays for the class.

Do-Now: This week, you and a group will be composing your own original plays to perform for the class.  Brainstorm THREE possible ideas for your play.

Today: 1) Finish watching "Scotland, Pa"

2) Introduce Playwriting Group Project

3) Begin working on project
