Objective: SWBAT create an alternate ending for "Romeo & Juliet."

Do-Now: At the end of "Romeo and Juliet," Lord Montague and Lord Capulet decided to put their feud aside and become friends.  Why does it sometimes take a tragedy to make people put their differences aside?  Can you recall other times in history where people were able to come together in the face of tragedy?

Today: 1) Discuss Romeo & Juliet Project

2) Ending Re-Write: The ending of Romeo and Juliet was extremely tragic. How about a happy ending instead? Re-write the final scene in order to allow for a happy ending for Romeo and Juliet. Think of what could have happened differently to allow the two to avoid a tragedy. Your re-write should be at least TWO pages long and may include characters already present in the play as well as new characters you create. Note: You may not bring back characters who have already died.

3) Continue watching "The Boy in Striped Pajamas."

Exit Slip: How is Bruno's view of the Holocaust different from Elie's?  Explain.
