Exit Slip: What does Beneatha's disbelief in God reveal about her character? What do you believe motivates Mama to slap Beneatha? What does Mama claim has been happening between her and her children?
Homework: In the end of Act 1, Scene 1, Mama and Beneatha have a disagreement about God. Write about a time when you and a parent disagreed on something. What did you disagree about? What do you believe motivated your parent to have a different opinion from you? How was the disagreement resolved? (If the disagreement was not resolved, write about why you believe it may have remained unresolved.) Your assignment should be a minimum of 5-7 sentences long and should be completed on this paper.
