Objective: Students will be able to analyze Doaker's motivation, make a prediction about the play's ending, and evaluate Boy Willie's right to the piano in Act 2, Scene 4 of "The Piano Lesson" in order to strengthen their higher-level thinking skills for the Keystone test.

Do-Now: Write your own definitions for each of the following words: analyze, predict, evaluate

Today: 1) Define analyze, predict, evaluate

2) Review Exit Slips and Charts from yesterday

3) Class will read Act 2, Scene 4 pp. 81-85.

4) Class will watch Act 2, Scenes 1-4.

5) Begin reading Act 2, Scene 5.

Exit Slip: Analyze: What do you believe motivates Doaker to intervene when Boy Willie attempts to take the piano behind Berniece's back?  Predict: Do you believe Boy Willie will be successful in getting the piano out of the house and selling it?  Explain why or why not.  Evaluate: Do you believe Boy Willie has a right to sell the piano?  Explain why or why not.

Homework: Legacy Project Due TOMORROW!!!  Test on "The Piano Lesson" Wednesday, November 20!!!
