Objective: Students will be able to evaluate statements from an anticipation guide in order to make predictions about the themes in “A Raisin in the Sun.”  Students will be able to describe the setting of “A Raisin in the Sun” in order to determine the mood of the play.

Do-Now: Write down THREE goals you have for yourself for the second semester.

Today: 1) Anticipation Guide for "A Raisin in the Sun"

2) Review setting and mood

3) Class will read the setting of "A Raisin in the Sun" and begin reading Act 1, Scene 1

Homework: Write a 5-7 sentence description of your bedroom using sensory details to create mood.  Underline or highlight the words/phrases you use to create this mood.
