Objective: SWBAT analyze Avery's dream in "The Piano Lesson" by summarizing the dream, explaining the significance behind THREE of the symbols in the dream, and, ultimately, determining the meaning of the dream as it relates to Avery.

3) Finish reading Act 1, Scene 1 pp. 19-28.
4) Watch Act 1, Scene 1 of "The Piano Lesson."
MEGA Exit Slip: Look back at Avery's monologue on pp. 24-25. Summarize what Avery saw in his dream. Next, explain the meaning behind THREE of the symbols in his dream. Finally, explain what you believe to be the meaning of this dream and how it relates to Avery's claim that he's meant to be a pastor.
