ObjectiveSWBAT evaluate Shakespeare’s use of figurative language in Act 4, Scene 2.  SWBAT evaluate Iago’s use of manipulation on Roderigo.  SWBAT describe how a song can be used as foreshadowing and evaluate the effectiveness of this foreshadowing. 
 
Do-Now

Othello plans on killing Desdemona and Iago plans on killing Cassio.  What might go wrong with these plans?  What might happen that the audience is not expecting?


Today: 1) Finish reading Act 4, Scene 2 and complete figurative language chart and exit slip from Friday.

2) Review foreshadowing.

3) Class will read Act 4, Scene 3 and Act 5, Scene 1.  Read Act 4, Scene 3 online HERE.  Read Act 5, Scene 1 online HERE.

Exit Slip: Describe how Desdemona's "Willow" song is being used as foreshadowing in Act 4, Scene 3.  Explain whether or not you believe this foreshadowing is effective on you as a reader.
